Terms and Conditions

1. Legal Information, Licenses and Authorizations

Aluguer de Autocarro is managed by PORTAexpresso®, which is a registered trademark used by the company SSMB — Serviços Intercidades Nacional e Internacionais, Lda.®, with NIPC 503727881, holder of the Licenses (RNAT number 7/2005) for Tourist Animation and (RNAVT License No. 8775) Travel Agency, from Turismo de Portugal. License for national and international passenger transport company by bus no. 2003326 from the Institute of Mobility and Transport.


Under this license, it carries out all types of tourist services inherent to Travel and Tourism Agencies and Tourist Animation, as well as passenger transport by bus, bus hire, services using yachts, helicopters, commercial airplanes, and private jets.

2. Customer Support

3. Reservas

a) Reservations may be made by email at portaexpressobus@ssmb.pt, or by phone via the contact number (+351) 916 607 450.


b) Reservation requests are subject to availability, acceptance of the terms and conditions, and are only valid after proof of payment of the total amount.

4. Number of Passengers

 a) PORTA expresso provides vehicles or equipment with different characteristics and typologies for its tours or activities according to customer needs, with or without a minimum required number depending on the activity.


b) However, exceptions may occur in assigning a maximum and minimum number of passengers, which will be mentioned and agreed via email with information about the type of service requested and quoted. 

5. Prices and Payment Conditions

a) Most activities carried out by PORTA expresso are customized and designed according to customer needs, which is why prices may not be listed for all services provided by the company and published on the website portaexpressobus@ssmb.pt


b) Prices displayed on the website are subject to VAT (Value Added Tax) and are listed in Euros, which may be 6% or 23% depending on the type of transport or service requested or booked.

6. Payment Methods

 Accepted payment methods for services provided/marketed may be:


a) Cash (Euro / Official Currency)
b) Bank Transfers.
c) Multibanco Reference. 

7. Reservations/Confirmation

All reservations or service contracts should preferably be confirmed by email, being binding only after payment of 100% (one hundred percent) of the total amount, according to the quotation presented by email by PORTA expresso, after sending the invoice or pro-forma invoice by email in PDF. Confirmation of receipt of payment for the requested service to be carried out or already carried out will always be sent by email.

8. Confirmation and Cancellation of Reservation by the Company

a) PORTA expresso only processes and confirms reservations to the customer after confirmation of the respective payment, therefore cannot guarantee availability until the beginning of such processing.


b) The provision of all services is subject to availability, and the company reserves the right not to accept or to cancel confirmed reservations for tours/activities or experiences that cannot be safely provided due to force majeure.


c) In case of unavailability due to force majeure to carry out the tour, service, activity, or experience, PORTA expresso will immediately inform the customer of the cancellation or impossibility of execution, and the amount paid will be refunded according to the established terms and conditions. PORTA expresso may not validate a reservation whenever there is no guarantee of proper payment, when information provided by the customer is incomplete, or when the reserved tour, activity, service, or experience is no longer available.


d) In any of the above cases, PORTA expresso may inform the customer by email that the reservation was not completed and the final sale did not proceed, specifying the reasons.


e) We reserve the right to refuse any reservation, regardless of the reason, exempting PORTAexpresso from liability for damages, losses, or costs caused to third parties or the customer. We also reserve the right to cancel any tour, service, activity, or experience, even if already confirmed, particularly in situations where:

 

 

  1. Billing information provided is incorrect or unverifiable;
  2. Reservation flagged by the security system of the website portaexpressobus@ssmb.pt or incorrect, irregular, or fraudulent reservation;
  3. An error is detected in the presentation of the price of the tour(s), activity(ies), experience(s), or services;
  4. The customer is deemed not to have the capacity to carry out such act;
  5. Safety or weather conditions do not permit the activity, according to instructions from competent authorities supervising the type of service or activity scheduled and paid for by the customer.

9. Cancellations by the Customer

PORTA expresso accepts all types of cancellations according to the following policy:
a) All cancellation requests must be notified by email to portaexpressobus@ssmb.pt.
b) The cancellation process of a reservation with PORTAexpresso may involve cancellation fees according to the points below:

  1. More than 15 days before the service or activity date: no cancellation fee, full refund.
  2. Between 7 and 14 days before the service or activity date: cancellation fee up to 50%, remaining amount refunded.
  3. Up to 7 days before the service or activity date: 100% cancellation fee.
  4. All cancellations must be communicated and confirmed by email to the customer’s email address and confirmed by phone by a PORTAexpresso employee or representative.

10. Commercial Campaigns and Promotions

a) All commercial campaigns or offers/promotions are valid only during the display period on the website aluguerdeautocarro.com and according to the established conditions, unless otherwise communicated.


b) In case of cancellations within commercial campaigns or promotions, the amount paid will be refunded or credited.

11. Responsibility

a) PORTA expresso operates under principles of responsibility and commercial honor, with a deontological and professional code of conduct, in accordance with Portuguese law.


b) However, it is not responsible for delays caused by weather, traffic, terrorism, strikes, or any external factor beyond PORTAexpresso® and its employees or subcontracted companies, nor for losses, theft, or damage to personal belongings transported by the customer during the tour, transport, activity, or experience.


c) The company reserves the right to refuse access to tours, services, activities, or experiences to persons under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or whose behavior is considered a threat to safety conditions.


d) PORTA expresso is legally required to maintain all civil liability and personal accident insurance required for its activities, as well as ensuring that all entities involved in providing services have the legally required insurance.

12. Complaints, Disputes, or Conflicts

a) In case of complaint, the customer may send it by email to portaexpressobus@ssmb.pt and also has access to the Physical Complaints Book or alternatively the Electronic Complaints Book, with access link on the website https://www.portaexpresso.com.


b) As a last resort, in case of conflict, we inform that we are a member of the Lisbon Consumer Dispute Arbitration Center (R. dos Douradores 106, 1100-619, Lisbon).


c) For all legal disputes, the Court of the District of Setúbal shall have jurisdiction, excluding any other. 

13. Data Protection

a) Personal information provided by the customer will be used for booking the requested tour, activity, or experience and will be collected and processed securely.


b) PORTA expresso will use personal data only for internal commercial purposes when authorized by the customer, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of May 2018.


c) Any images or recordings made by SSMB PORTA expresso Portugal ® of customers for commercial purposes must have written consent from all involved parties.


d) All customers have the right to access, rectify, cancel, and object to their data, and may exercise this right by emailing portaexpressobus@ssmb.pt
